Ace Attorney Investigations 2 in development for DS
UPDATE: New information posted.
Miles Edgeworth once again takes centre stage in another Investigations game.
SPOILERS INSIDE FOR OTHER ACE ATTORNEY GAMES!
A sequel to the latest Ace Attorney game, Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth has been announced. The game follows Miles Edgeworth as he once again tries to solve more cases and find the real culprits. Very little information has been revealed, but we do know that there are to be new features in the game. One case appears to take place at Gourd Lake, a location in the first game where Miles Edgeworth was accused of murdering an attorney. However, early shots for the original Ace Attorney Investigations game showed Edgeworth and Gumshoe solving a case near Phoenix Wright’s office and the location of a case in Apollo Justice, so this may not make it into the final game.
The game stars Edgeworth, but other character scheduled to appear include Dick Gumshoe, a bumbling detective who is devoted to his work, and Kay Faraday, a teenage thief who becomes the new Yatagarasu, a name given to an infamous thief. The previous game had reappearances from previous Ace Attorney characters such as Wendy Oldbag and Maggey Byrde, so we should expect the return of some characters here as well as some old favourites.
The previous game’s story followed Edgeworth as he solved a number of different cases, such as a murder on an airplane and a murder in his office, all linked to a smuggling ring and a mysterious thief. It is unknown what this game’s story is about yet, however.
Are you excited for this game? Check back soon for more information. The game will also be playable at the Tokyo Games Show, so look out for it!
Update: Some more information has been revealed about the game. Firstly, Shelly de Killer, the assassin from Justice for All who Matt Engarde hired to kill Juan Corrida, is set to return in this game as a witness in the first case. He sports a different appearance (due to his previous costumes being due to him being in character, e.g. as Engarde’s butler or a bellboy), but is still recognisable by the stitches down his face and his monocle. It is unknown whether Edgeworth and Gumshoe will recognise him, however. Secondly, the game is set to focus more on Edgeworth’s human side, with the first case setting this up. Kay will be availible from the first case also. Finally, a little more on Chess was revealed. It is similar to the Magatama that Phoenix used, and is apparently easy to use.
