The Nintendo Wii bad for your elbows and shoulders?

Daily Mail to continue their outrageous claims of video games?

The Nintendo Wii has indeed encouraged greater activity in the gaming community. Because of the Wii controls encourages you to mimic moves you would do in real sports such as; golf, tennis and boxing. Users have reported elbow and shoulder problems because of the repetitive action required.

Physiotherapist, Sammy Margo says:

“A golf swing, for instance, is a big movement. But someone with a sedentary lifestyle will not usually be taking their shoulder through the full range of movement, so when they do, they can end up over extending and damaging muscles, tendons and ligaments. It’s important to warm up first.”

Daily Mail strike again perhaps?
