Wii sales down by 45 percent

Will sales down by 45%?

With the NPD group  not publishing any hardware sales figures anymore. Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has revealed today that the Wii has sold 254,000 units this month. Which is a 45% drop from this time, last year.

Pachter as always, blames the slower sales on “gamer fatigure and a lack of high-profile releases.” The Nintendo Wii does have some good games before the year is out. Other M, Kirby Epic Yarn in North America and Wii Party.

Overall sales for the Wii and DS have dropped. The Nintendo Wii sales have dropped by 24% this year and the DS software sales by 10%.

“In our view, the era of standard definition gaming is rapidly coming to an end,” Pachter continued.

“Nintendo may have missed the opportunity to revitalize its large installed base of consumers by offering them an HD version of the Wii before Sony and Microsoft encroach with motion control schemes of their own.”
